One of the key features of a VFD booster system is automatic pressure regulation.
The pressure setpoint can be established according to the hydraulic design.
For example, the system may be designed to maintain a specified discharge pressure under normal operating conditions.
When only a small amount of water is being consumed, the pump operates at reduced speed.
When several outlets open simultaneously, the pressure begins to fall.
The controller detects the change and increases pump speed.
This happens automatically without requiring the operator to manually adjust the pump.
