A Permanent Magnet VFD Booster Pump is a pressure-boosting water pump equipped with a high-efficiency permanent magnet motor and a variable frequency drive.
The VFD continuously adjusts the speed of the pump motor based on the water demand and required pressure.
For example, imagine a residential building during the early morning.
At one moment, only one bathroom may be using water. A few minutes later, several apartments may open taps, start showers, flush toilets or operate washing machines.
A conventional pump may continue operating at a relatively high speed even when the demand is low.
A VFD booster pump works differently.
When demand decreases, the pump slows down.
When demand increases, the pump speeds up.
This allows the system to deliver water according to actual consumption instead of continuously producing maximum flow.
The addition of a permanent magnet motor makes the system even more efficient because the motor can achieve high efficiency across a wide operating range.
