Main Functions / Positions of a Multiport Valve
Filter – Normal operation; water passes through filter media
Backwash – Cleans the filter media by reversing water flow
Rinse – Settles the filter media after backwash
Waste / Drain – Flushes dirty water out of the system
Recirculate / Bypass – Water circulates without filtration
Closed – Stops water flow completely
Types of Multiport Valves
Top-mounted MPV – Installed on top of the filter tank
Side-mounted MPV – Installed on the side of the filter tank
Manual MPV – Operated by hand
Automatic MPV – Operated using actuators or control panels
